Republican Accountability PAC Launches Six-Figure Nationwide Campaign Targeting Trump Over January 6 in Fox News Primetime Town Halls
Ad plays footage of January 6 with audio of Republican lawmakers condemning Trump; will run nationally on Fox News during the town halls of Nikki Haley, Ron Desantis, and Donald Trump.
WASHINGTON – January 8, 2024 – Today Republican Accountability PAC announced a new six-figure nationwide ad campaign targeting Trump for instigating the January 6 attack and urging Republican primary voters not to support him. It will air for three nights on Fox News, during the network’s planned town halls with Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Trump from January 8 - 10.
The 30-second ad, which you can watch here, plays footage of prominent Republicans—Ted Cruz, Mike Gallagher, and Mitch McConnell—condemning the former president for his actions on January 6. It ends by saying, “Trump did this. He’ll do it again. He can never be president again.”
The campaign comes around the third anniversary of January 6, and a week before the Iowa Caucuses. Haley’s town hall will take place on January 8, DeSantis’ on January 9, and Trump’s on January 10. By calling attention to Trump’s actions that day, and by tapping national Republicans who criticized him for it, the campaign is aimed at persuadable Republicans who may be swayed by Trump’s role in the attack.
“We can’t let voters forget about Donald Trump’s central role in the violence of January 6,” said Gunner Ramer, political director for the Republican Accountability PAC. “He continues to deny responsibility and pushes conspiracy theories about what took place. We must remind voters of his contempt for the fundamental tenets of American democracy.”
